How to Use the KOAPRO Original Fascia Massage Tool

Preparation

For optimal results, use the KOAPRO tool on bare skin with massage oil to reduce friction and enhance gliding. Alternatively, it can be used over tight clothing. Suitable for most body parts, including feet, back, legs, shoulders, scalp, hands, hips, calves, and shoulders.

Technique

Begin with light strokes in up-and-down, side-to-side, and diagonal directions to warm up the tissue. Adjust the pressure as needed, increasing gradually for a deeper massage. Each muscle group should receive 20 progressively deeper passes, approximately 30 seconds per area.

Specific Tips

  • Use the “fingers” and “thumbs” of the tool to target tension and the flat edges to smooth over bumpy areas.
  • For deep trigger points, apply pressure for 30 to 90 seconds.
  • For hard-to-reach areas, lie on the tool, press it against a wall, or use a hard-back chair and lean against it.
  • After loosening up areas, lightly rub them with your hands to promote faster relief.

I purchased this as an option to the more expensive Ashley Black tool, and while this has merit as a massage tool, it’s not designed to address “fascia” (in my opinion). Used it a few times with oil and attempted to use briskly as a fascia blaster and a few days later, bruising appeared. If you are looking for a tool for massage on top of clothing, this would be the recommended way to go. I rated it the way I did because I searched on Ashley Black and it came up as a lower price point option. It isn’t comparable to address fascia.

The small size is perfect for self-treatment of smaller areas, but I do also recommend having one of the body-sized for larger areas and reaching behind you. I wish I’d had this years ago. It’s really helped.
