INSTRUCTIONS

The fine fingers and guasha blade handles of the KOAPRO Fascia Gua Sha Massage Tool are designed specifically for the face & head, but can also be used anywhere on the body and in combination with other KOAPRO tools. The curved, beveled handle edges are designed for gua sha fascia massage techniques. We recommend using the tool 2 - 4 times a week for 30 to 90 seconds on each part of your head, neck, or body.

  1. Liberally apply oil to areas on which you will use the device.

  1. If using on the face, rub gua sha handle very gently and slowly in back-and-forth motions. Do not press deeply, rub too hard, or rub in circular motions.

  1. Use evenly on both sides of face to avoid uneven results. Always use tool in front of a mirror to ensure you are using proper techniques.

  2. For FACE: Once Face is hydrated, use the flat side guasha edges (not the fingers) of the GuaSha tool about 15 degrees to skin and mindfully apply slow light to medium pressure in sweeping upwards motions.
  3. Always take short strokes in just one direction, not back and forth. If you want to reduce puffiness, work lightly, then more firmly, to relax muscles. Pressing the tool flat to the skin, next delicately stroke under the eyes or over any redness, to soothe and de-puff.
    Here are some areas of the face you can try gua sha on:
    Nose
    Lightly scrape up the bridge of your nose, then down the sides to your cheeks. Repeat three times.
    Cheeks
    Start at your nose and sweep upwards and outwards towards your ears. Scrape once, then move down and scrape again, and finally scrape again at the center of your chin.
    Under eyes
    Start at the inner corner of your eye and glide outwards to your temple. This can help reduce lines, dark circles, redness, and puffiness.
    Forehead
    Use horizontal strokes over your brow bone to smooth wrinkles, lift skin, and release tension.
    Lips
    Glide back and forth over your lips about five times to plump them.
    Chin
    Use strokes from the inside of your face out to lift your complexion and firm your skin and stroke from the inside of your face out to lift your complexion and firm your skin
    Jawline 
     Hug your chin in between 2 fingers gently guiding the tool from the middle of your chin along your jawline towards your ear. Repeat three times on both sides.
  4. For Body: Start with light up-and-down, side-to-side, and diagonal strokes to "warm up" tissue. You can vary the pressure and intensity, as tolerated.

  5. Hold the tool at a 30–45° angle so it touches your skin.
    Use light to medium pressure: Start slowly and increase pressure as your tolerance builds. Pushing too hard can close lymphatic vessels.
    Move in the right direction: Move in the direction of your muscles, usually in an outward and downward motion. For example, when working on your neck, you can start at the base of your head and stroke down. When working on your thighs, you can start at the bottom of your outer thigh and stroke up toward your hips. The exception is at the hairline, where you can apply gua sha above and below the area of concern.
    Repeat: Repeat each movement three to five times before moving on to another area.
    Look for results: You might see small red dots or petitions appear after gua sha, or your skin might simply turn red. This is normal and indicates increased blood flow.
  6. You can gradually add more pressure to promote a deeper massage. Lighten pressure if you are feeling uncomfortable. A typical session includes 20 progressively deeper passes over each muscle group, with about 30 seconds per area.

  7. You can use the “fingers” of the tool and the end “thumbs” to apply pressure to relax tension, and the flat edges and handle to smooth over bumpy areas. If a certain spot feels tense, ease into it by massaging all around it and working your way toward the sore area.

  8. For deep trigger points, you can press in and apply pressure for about 30 to 90 seconds. 

  9. For hard-to-reach areas that might require more pressure, you may also lie on the KOAPRO Fascia Massage Tool, put it against the wall, or use a straight, hard-back chair and lean against it.

  10. After loosening up focused areas, lightly rub these spots with your hands to promote faster relief.

  11. Be sure to drink plenty of water before, during, and after your KOAPRO massage to stay well hydrated.

AFTER USE

  1. Wash your face and neck with mild cleanser.

  2. Apply facial moisturizer.

  3. Clean the tool with antibacterial soap after use.

DO NOT

  • Use on or near open cuts, lesions, wounds, rashes, or infected areas.

  • Use directly on the eyelid area. 

  • Rub too hard or press too deeply on any face or neck area to avoid injury or unwanted results.

  • Rub in circular motions.
